Hannah is a 24-year-old full-time award-winning fitness, health and foodie blogger. Hannah launched her blog, Hannah and Fitness, as a way of keeping herself accountable at first. She always had a passion for writing, and she thought that a blog would be a brilliant way of keeping a record of her training process. Hannah is one of FitFest Oxford’s media partners and will be speaking about motivation and how you should view fitness as part of your lifestyle rather than a daily chore that’s needed in order to get yourself to the gym every day!” We are delighted to have Hannah as part of our FitFest tribe! Hannah started her fitness journey after taking a year out to learn about health and fitness. Until the age of 20, she went out almost every weekend and made bad food choices. Hannah’s ethos in life is to do what you love and love what you do. As a blogger and social media influencer, she wants to prove that fitness and a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be boring nor restrictive. It’s about making fitness work for you and more importantly, loving what you do!
Is the blog your full-time job/occupation?
Yes, up until two months ago I was a full-time graphic designer. Now, I get to do what I love as my career, and I feel so grateful for that. Although, I will say that it’s not as easy as everyone thinks! Most days I’m working 12/13 hour days and even when I’m not ‘working’ I’m still working away on social media on my phone.
Being a blogger is not easy at all by the looks of it, what would be your best tip in regards to time management?
My top tips would be to organise yourself. It’s so important! At the beginning of each week, I simply write out my to-do list for each day of the week and then I tick it off as I go along. Also, flagging the most important emails is key too – then I can get back to them at the end of the day!
How do you feel about being involved in FitFest Oxford?
I love meeting like-minded people. As well as that, I love motivating other people and sharing my story. I recently held a motivational talk at Edinburgh’s ‘Health and Fitness project 2017’ and the buzz that came from sharing my story and motivational ways of living was just incredible. Getting involved in the fitness community is a great and powerful thing!
