Evelyn Kaluza is a life coach based in Bicester. Her journey to finding coaching and mindfulness came about through her career in the public sector. When Evelyn moved into senior leadership roles, she started attending conferences. It was a conference about women in leadership that made it for her: Evelyn felt filled with inspiration of having an impact on peoples lives and the seed was sewn to find her purpose. It was later on, on another personal training event, that she really started questioning whether her current role was fulfilling enough for her. As a result, Wellness for Success was born!

Evelyn’s purpose in life and coaching style is finding a way to help people find their own formula for success and happiness and in control of the life they want.

When was Wellness for Success set up?

I started my business in June this year after leaving my fulltime career in local government.

What was your biggest motivation towards setting up the business?

I was inspired by a coach I met last year who said find your purpose and follow your intuition. It was a light bulb moment when I attended a workshop at the beginning of this year when I knew that coaching was something I was drawn to and see how many young women out there struggle with lack of confidence and belief in their abilities I knew that I wanted to help them. Drawing on my own experiences and personal development I founded Wellness for Success to reflect that practicing self-care is the foundation for happiness and success.

If you could sum up your philosophy in one sentence, what would it be?

I believe everyone is unique and equipped with the inner strength and wisdom to find success and happiness, they just need a bit of help to be pointed in the right direction.

What inspires your work?

Seeing clients make big changes in their life with a renewed strength to handle and face life’s ups and downs

How is a normal day with Evelyn?

My daily routine always starts and ends with a meditation. Other than that I don’t have a typical day.  Some days I am either coaching or running my mindfulness groups. On others, I am trying to develop myself and learn as much as I can about the latest research in the way our brains work. In another life, I think I would have been a neuroscientist or psychologist!

What is the best tip you could give to someone regarding their wellness?

Prioritise some time every day for self-care and be kind to yourself.

What are you bringing to FitFest Oxford 2018?

I will be running some taster workshops on mindfulness to give people the opportunity to experience the positive effects of mindfulness in as little as 3 minutes.

Why are you excited to be involved in FitFest Oxford?

For me, this is going to be a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded people in this ever growing important field and hopefully inspire and motivate the visitors to take some action to improve their wellbeing.
