National Fitness Day
26
Sep 18Today is National Fitness Day, we wish everyday could be national fitness day, don’t you? No? Too far? Ok maybe not every day but more than just the once a year, something like monthly fitness day.
Physical activity is important to help us live healthier, active lifestyles and that’s what National Fitness Day is all about – raising awareness of how important it is and highlighting how it affects the UK.
There are so many ways to get active that there is literally something for everyone. There’s the normal things like running, going to the gym, swimming, yoga etc. But there are lots that you may not think about, climbing, trampoline classes and martial arts.
To be able to stay active and for it to not just be a bit of a five-minute wonder, you need to enjoy it, so try things out, try new classes and see what makes you excited to go back. Once you’ve found it it’ll be so much easier to go. And then when you start seeing the physical results on your body, the bug will get you and then you become one of ‘those’ people who loves fitness.
Here’s something you can do at home today though if you’ve not got anything planned or aren’t sure what you want to do. Lululemon – a yoga-inspired, technical athletic apparel company for women and men – have a YouTube channel with home yoga practice videos for you to follow along to. Visit their channel, pick one that takes your fancy and give it a go.
If you are interested in a couple of classes that aren’t the norm, a couple of our favourites are: Groove Aerobics dance fitness classes, ((Bounce)) mini trampoline fitness classes, Boogie Bounce Xtreme a dance mini trampoline class and AJactive flexi bar classes.
So get off your backside and go and try something new! And we’re always interested in new ways to get fit and healthy so let us know what fitness activities you do.
