ASK (Association of Systematic Kinesiology) is a registered charity that exists to:

  1. Bring to the notice of the public the great value of Systematic Kinesiology.
  2. Provide professionally trained people in all branches of both orthodox and complementary health care, with the support of a professional organisation, which promotes high standards of ethics, training and practice among those who use SK.
  3. Maintain at the registered office a national register of professional practitioners so that members of the public may be assisted to find qualified help from reputable qualified Systematic Kinesiologists.

There might be a few of you know that are asking themselves, what is Kinesiology? If that is the case, don’t worry..this is the reason why something beautiful just happened. Sue Southern from Vibrant Life Force, whom we introduced before, will be joining forces with ASK at April’s event!! Their goal: to raise awareness about kinesiology and other holistic treatments that use a range of gentle yet extremely powerful techniques but most importantly: that are non-invasive and effective!

Very briefly explained Kinesiology is a non-invasive holistic energy therapy. It combines the ancient principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with modern muscle monitoring techniques. It is based upon the premise that any issues within an energy system will eventually be reflected in the body. Kinesiology uses muscle-testing techniques to gain an insight into the areas of stress and imbalance within the energy system.

We spoke to Julie Bingham, who has recently taken the role as administrator of The Association of Systematic Kinesiology who suggested that given our very busy and saturated lives, we should all consider the benefits of holistic therapies. Her overriding value is working with integrity and ensuring that members receive the best support while promoting the benefits that Kinesiology can bring to the well-being of the general public, through education and training. Julie’s motto: training, supporting and promoting.

Julie, what is your best experience so far since you been running ASK? One that makes you think “I am definitely doing the right thing!”!

Feedback from the members as to the increased energy and activity since taking over the role. Using my past experience as a business administrator and Kinesiology Practitioner to work ‘Smarter not Harder’.

Who makes ASK possible?

There is a very small team, myself and my husband, Clive, who until recently was a freelance Business Advisor and who is now supporting me in my role. Technically he now reports to me !!  It’s a fantastic job and we work well together. As a registered charity we currently have 4 unpaid Trustees who give me great advice and support particularly in the first couple of months where I would have been lost without them.

Why FitFest Oxford?

The main reason for attending FitFest Oxford is to support one of our Professional Members, Sue Southern, so she has the opportunity to have a larger presence at the event and to be able to talk to more visitors and introduce them to Kinesiology through Kinesiology taster sessions. We will also have the chance to promote our Kinesiology training courses which Sue and other Tutors can offer.

We were very impressed with Sue’s enthusiasm as to how FitFest could help her develop her business and teaching practice.
